Emily's checklist . . . .

Pre-school {DONE}

Kindergarten {DONE}

1st Grade {DONE}

2nd Grade {DONE}

I'm so proud of my Emily. School is not easy for her. I can remember back to the first month of school when she would go to school with her stomach all in knots and come home from school with her stomach in knots cause it was hard for her. But what I love about her is, she never gave up. She never complained and she just worked as hard as she could to do her very best. She has come a long way and I think she is an amazing person!!

This is Emily with her teacher Miss Jazwin. She was a great teacher for Emily { patient , kind, understanding and helped Emily so much.} One night after the blessing on the food Emily started to cry. I asked what was wrong and she said "I'm really going to miss Miss Jazwin."

Here are some of Emily's friends. I ate lunch with Emily the day before school was out. One of her friend called me over to her and said "I really like Emily, she is always so nice to me."

{Oscar is on the right. He has a crush on Emily.}

Miss Jazwin had all the kids write 2 things about each person in the class. Here is what they said about her:

You are * pretty and kind *cute and cheerful *a very honest person *cool,fun and respectful * sweet and so nice * funny and cool to hang out with * always nice to everyone * a good friend * a good sport * honest and nice

You have *pretty hair * beautiful eyes * a nice smile * a cheerful voice

You rock and you are really cute!

. . . . . only 10 more years til graduation!!!

"You want to be in the what?" . . .

A few months ago the school sent how a paper to all the kids to fill out and send back if they want to be in the school talent show. "Mom, they said we can dance, sing, play an instrument, say a poem, tell jokes for the talent show. I really don't want to tell jokes so how about I just dance!!" Sounds great to me, only problem is this mama can't dance. I have no idea how to even make up a dance routine. So weeks went by and every other day or so she would remind me that the talent show paper needs to be turned in by Friday. Friday came, she turned her paper in and now I am freaking out a little cause still, I had no idea what she was going to do. My mom suggested maybe her and Miles {my nephew that goes there too} do a swing dance together. So I called my sister and told her the idea and told her to get Miles excited about it. We were at family dinner one night and she had the kids listen to so music to pick the song that they liked best. They picked Rockin Robin. Now we had a song, but no moves. {My mom is the VP over at Burke where Emily goes.} She works with a lady that use to teach dance at a dance studio, so she asked her if she could help us out. She made a little dance up for them. They practiced maybe 6-7 times and then they were ready. My mom is the best!! She made Emily a poodle skirt and everything. Not only were they the best performance they were so cute to watch.

Way to go Emily and Miles!!!!

What to wear . . . .

At Emily's school {Burke Basic} they all wear uniforms. {Red, White or Navy Blue Polo shirts with Navy Blue pants, capris, skirts, shorts or Tan pants, capris, skirts, shorts.} LOVE IT! This year her cousin Miles started attending Burke too. They are so cute, they decided that they wanted to match every day. So we came up with schedule of what to wear and when.

This is how it went . . .
